Over the past three years, FILO Conference has continued to grow. What started as a bunch of smaller regional one-day events in 2015 moved to Naperville, IL for a two-day blowout at Community Christian Church in 2016. We maxed the place out in 2017 and needed to find a larger location. We’re excited to partner with the team at Willow Creek Church to help us take FILO Conference to the next level. More seats for the main sessions. More seats for the breakouts. More space for networking.

“I love the heart that drives FILO! It’s not just about helping the techs get better at their job, but how they fit into the church community, and more importantly how they, as they serve, fit into God’s family.”

“Thank you for giving me an opportunity to worship and truly engage and be refreshed, more than I can ever express.”

“I came expecting to observe and learn technical skills, but left challenged and inspired by the importance of the relational. Even (and perhaps especially) as a task-oriented introvert.”

“I got my face blown off with exciting ideas for the future!”

“FILO is like a huge shot in the arm for church techs! It’s like getting a second wind. We came away encouraged, inspired to try new tricks on old problems, and definitely learned a few new things.”

“It’s a special time to get away with our team and not have to worry about any of the tech details!”

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is FILO Conference for?

Anyone involved in technology in his or her local church. Audio or lighting, staff or volunteer, beginner or expert, everyone is encouraged to attend. There will be something for everyone. While technical artists are the focus of FILO, worship pastors, music directors or anyone who works with technical artists is more than welcome to attend.

Why does it cost so much?

Your registration helps us produce an event worth coming to! We bring in top-notch speakers and teachers, who are veterans at getting their hands dirty in the nitty gritty of production life. Our goal is to create an experience that will refresh and inspire those who come!

Are meals included?

Meals are not included with the cost of registration. Meals will be available for pre-purchase at a future date, with limited availability for purchase onsite.

Who is behind FILO Conference?

After the Gurus of Tech conferences came to an end, there was no other event that was laser focused on the technical artist in the local church. Todd Elliott, the former Technical Arts Director at Willow Creek Community Church, rounded up a team of people to help fill the void and bring you the First In Last Out Conference.

A one-day FOH mixing event for the engineer, the musician, and the creative.

MxU will be in Chicago at Willow Creek, the day before FILO! Over the past two years, this combination has proven to be a great pairing for our attendees. It’s no mistake that MxU and FILO have worked to schedule these two events back to back at the same venue. Attending both is a great investment for you and your team.

You’ll learn from three of the world’s top worship audio engineers: Andrew Stone (Church on the Move and touring veteran), Jeff Sandstrom (Chris Tomlin, Passion and North Point), and Lee Fields (Lincoln Brewster and Bayside Church). Come and get an up close and personal look at the how, what, and WHY they do what they do.
